Gearys & Gossip Girl

Gearys Girl here! Your one and only source into the fabulous trends in dinnerware’s elite! 

If you are a Gossip Girl fan (like myself) you will recognize that as the opening line to every Gossip Girl episode, however, with a Gearys tabletop twist!

The popular CW network TV show Gossip Girl has become a fashion trend-setter for the past four years.  There are fan clubs dedicated to Blair Waldorf’s headbands, and blogs that identify where you can buy the latest dress worn by Serena van der Woodsen.  I truly believe that it was THIS very show that pioneered the headband trend that sprung about after the first season aired in 2007. For a clothing designer, to have your merchandise appear in an episode of Gossip Girl is one of the strongest marketing tactics, because if it is seen on Gossip Girl, worn by the characters (namely Serena van der Woodsen and Blair Waldorf), it is “fashionable”.

I am sure you are wondering… “What does this have to do with Gearys?”

Let me explain…

I couldn’t help but notice while watching Gossip Girl, the plethora of dinnerware products and brands we carry that are featured on their show.  From the home of the Humphrey/van der Woodsen’s to the Waldorf residence and seen being used by the girls gallivanting on a summer holiday in Paris, our brands are showcased throughout!

At the home of Serena van der Woodsen, an elegant Vera Wang (for Wedgwood) crystal stemware pattern, “Grosgrain” is used at every family brunch!

In the Waldorf residence, what would be a more appropriate pattern than Bernardaud “Constance” which is coincidentally (or perhaps not) the name of the college preparatory school that Blair and Serena attended. 

Both families came together for Thanksgiving at the Waldorf’s and they celebrated the holiday while using their L’Objet Aegean Gold Dinnerware.

Their Thanksgiving table was adorned by Pinecone Salt  & Pepper Shakers, also by the same resource, L’Objet.

Serena and Blair enjoyed evening cocktails at the Baccarat bar in Paris with their Vega champagne flutes in olive green.

As the Assistant Buyer for tabletop and giftware, I couldn’t be more proud to know that the merchandise we sell appears in almost EVERY episode of Gossip Girl.  This can mean only one thing… Gearys is fashionable!
